This trip design is inspired by Sharon Blackie’s book, If Women Rose Rooted.”
We are on a quest to find our place in this world, drawing inspiration from the wild landscape of the San Juan Mountains in Silverton, Colorado while drawing from the wise and powerful women in our ancestry, mythology, and community.
We will start with a New Moon Intention Ceremony where we lay our hopes, fears, and dreams out vulnerably for all of us to see and support. The darkness of the new moon is a time for reflection and exploring the unseen. New Moon energy is all about new beginnings. It is a spiritual calling to be fully present so you can explore your deepest desires and heartfelt wishes that sometimes get lost in the flurry of so much doing. August is the Sturgeon Moon and symbolizes gratitude for the bounties of nature, and asks us to step into the flow and appreciate the fruits of all seasons and the unique beauties of the cycles of life.
As we hike up the mountain and into the wilderness, we will guide you in connecting with nature, yourself, and in being present. At the top, we will look out at the land before us and be reminded that we are significant and powerful and we will tap into our female energy in a Transformational Celebration. On the way back down, you will learn about local history, landscapes, and tundra while bonding with each other in physical adventure. The day will end with reflection, discussion, and in learning how to bring this experience forward into your daily life.
